Optimized LED is a vision of Brett Lorenzen. As a child Brett always had a curious interest for how things work and a keen observer of aesthetics while working on commercial construction sites since the age of 16. Brett carried this interest into the University of Colorado where he studied Architectural Engineering with a focus on lighting systems by the infamous professor in the industry, David DiLaura.
Brett continued to tune these interests by applying this knowledge and gaining experience from building design while employed at Clanton Associates, a lighting design firm in Boulder, CO, SmithGroup, an architectural-engineering firm based in Detroit, MI and Henderson Engineers, an MEP engineering firm based in Lenexa, KS. Additionally, Brett has worked for two independent Arizona lighting manufacturer representatives, providing insight on the construction process from inception to construction completion.
With over 12 years of experience as an electrical engineer and seeing a gap in the design industry where the electrical engineer is unable to provide the lighting systems the careful design consideration they deserve, Optimized LED was founded.
Brett is a Licensed Electrical Engineer in California, Colorado, and Arizona.
Miranda Montanez is our 2nd Intern, she primarily focusses on completing ERRC System Designs using our standard prototype. Miranda is a great student, fast learner, with a passion for engineering, and strong work ethic. She is quickly becoming a welcomed addition to our engineering family. Miranda plans to attend ASU from 2023-2027, we plan for her to continue her employment with Optimized LED after her graduation where she will begin to train the next intern in this process.
