The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community has seen tremendous growth allowing the tribal community to upgrade its centralized government infrastructure. In 2017, construction was completed on their multi-story court facility boasting state of the art technological advances and aesthetics. The facility embraces energy savings with light wells and LED lighting throughout. The facility is prepared to receive the USGBC LEED Silver Building Rating. For years, Arizona State University has had a long history of providing a quality university education, especially in the realm of building construction. The Del E. Webb School of Construction was established in 1992 via an endowment and resides as part of the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment. In 2014, Arizona State University decided to construct a new facility for this long established program. Mesa is the 2nd largest city in Arizona making Mesa Community College in significant demand for educational services. In 2001, Maricopa Community Colleges opened a second campus in Mesa at the intersection of Power Road and McDowell Road. This facility integrates the environment with the teaching facilities. The Saguaro building is home to music courses including practice and recording facilities. Chandler Gilbert Community College was experiencing expanding interest among their students in sports and athletics. In 2013, the school commissioned a new state of the art athletic facility which also included study spaces, a testing center, and student services. The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community has seen tremendous growth allowing the tribal community to upgrade its community services. In 2017, construction was completed on their new community multi-use building housing the Boys and Girls Club of Arizona. The facility provides meeting spaces, fitness and sporting facilities for tribal members. The crown jewel of the project is a 25,000 sq ft indoor water park with a lazy river, sprayground equipment, and a waterslide. The waterpark area was completed using high-output Specgrade LED lighting fixtures in a fully indirect application. The YMCA has a long history of providing low-cost community spaces throughout the country. These spaces generally focus on fitness classes and facilities for families. The West Valley YMCA provides fitness, classrooms, and swimming facilities for residents in the West Valley area of Phoenix, Arizona. Brett Lorenzen completed the design for all power and lighting in the facility while employed at Henderson Engineers, Inc.
